WHITELEY ENDS RACE DAY AT VIRGINIA NATIONALS EARLIER THAN INTENDED.


Petersburg, VA.– NHRA Pro Mod Series racer Steven Whiteley and his J&A Service team exit first round of the Inaugural Virginia NHRA Nationals held at Virginia Motorsports Park. This is the second weekend the J&A Service team ran the new 2018 ZL1 Camaro, and were pleased with the qualifying performance despite the race day loss. Whiteley was outrun by friend and competitor Dan Stevenson. Whiteley ran 5.89 seconds at 249 mph to Stevenson’s 5.81 seconds at 253 mph.

The following was each qualifying pass made by Steven Whiteley and the J&A Service ZL1 Camaro:

Friday June 8, 2018

  • Q1: 10.09, 88 mph

  • Q2: Car Would Not Start

Saturday June 9, 2018

  • Q3: 5.82, 251 MPH

  • Q4: 5.82, 252 MPH**

The E3 Spark Plugs Pro Mod Series Presented by J&A Service will reconvene in Bristol, Tennessee this weekend at the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals, June 15-17, where Whiteley will continue his pursuit of the series championship.
