WHITELEY CONTINUES PURSUIT OF CHAMPIONSHIP IN VIRGINIA.

The J&A Service Team Learns New Information To Improve Championship Standing.

Petersburg, VA. –NHRA Pro Mod Series racer Steven Whiteley and his J&A Service team are looking to capitalize off of their Heartland Nationals qualifying success as they head into this weekend’s Inaugural Virginia NHRA Nationals at Virginia Motorsports Park.

With only four consistent passes in their brand new 2018 ZL1 Camaro and a number two qualifying position, the J&A Service team was amazed at how well the new car performed at the Heartland Nationals.

Whiteley’s crew chief Jeff Perley said, “We made two attempts to test the new car before Topeka, but didn’t have any success. We went into the weekend blind and were happily surprised with the success that we experience. In order to gather more data and learn more about how the new car will run, we’re heading over to Bristol to test before we head north to Virginia.”

Steven Whiteley adds, “We are still learning how to run this car. Obviously our mission is always to qualify well and win races. We are making steps to make that possible. Testing in Bristol will give our team the opportunity to build off of the knowledge we gained in Topeka, and apply that to this weekend’s race in Virginia.”

Virginia Motorsports Park has not held a national event on the grounds since 2009 and won the right to hold the event after the cancellation of Englishtown, N.J.

“We have tested at VMP in the past on our way to E-Town,” Steven said. “It’s a nice facility and I think it’s a good fit for the series.”

Qualifying of the E3 Spark Plugs NHRA Pro Mod Series begins Friday June 8 at 2:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., and Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Round 1 of eliminations begins at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. All times listed are in Eastern Standard Time and are subject to change.
