WHITELEY PREMIERS 2018 ZL1 CAMARO IN TOPEKA.

TOPEKA, KS. – After a rocky start to the 2018 season, E3 Spark Plugs NHRA Pro Mod Series racer Steven Whiteley and his J&A Service team will race a new 2018 ZL1 Camaro in hopes to improve their round record this weekend at the 30th annual Menards NHRA Heartland Nationals presented by Minties at Heartland Motorsports Park.

“Our Cadillac just wasn’t getting it done,” said the 25-year-old Colorado native. “Our new ZL1 Camaro is sleek, and provides more visibility which helps more than I realized.”

“The motivation for the new ZL1 Camaro was to make it unique,” Whiteley continues. “All of the Camaros in the pro mod class do not look like Camaros. I wanted to do one right. I hope the fans will appreciate everything we did.”

With 9 races left in the series and currently sitting 15th in points, the J&A service team is looking for a competitive advantage to turn their season around.

“We have had plenty of uphill battles and have fallen short every race so far,” the father of two said. “But we are constantly trying to be proactively better than where we were. I believe the Camaro will outperform the Cadillac no question, but it won’t solve all of our problems. We will get there!”

Steven Whiteley will race alongside his father and 2018 Spring Nationals Pro Mod Champion Jim Whiteley in the highly competitive Pro Mod class this weekend. Qualifying of the E3 Spark Plugs NHRA Pro Mod Series begins Friday May 18 at 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., and Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Round 1 of eliminations begins at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. All times listed are in Central Standard Time and are subject to change.
