Las Vegas, NV (October 31st, 2017)- It was a sold out crowd at the 17th Annual NHRA Toyota Nationals, the 12th and final J&A Services Pro Mod Series Race. 2017 J&A Services Pro Mod Winner Steven Whiteley was a crowd favorite. The 24 year old calls The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway home due to his families fond memories of racing there.

In the first session of qualifying Steven ran an ET of 6.107, 193.21 mph which was good enough to qualify 12th.

“I felt something go wrong with the car, so I got off the throttle to avoid any damage, which didn’t give us the run we were looking for,” Whiteley said.

During Q2, Whiteley ran 5.879, 245.49 mph which allowed him to position himself in a favorable ladder position for eliminations.

“Pro mod is a very competitive class. There are 28 cars here this weekend which makes the competition even tougher. We pride ourselves on making quality runs that advance our position. No room for error” said Whiteley.

In the final round of qualifying Whiteley in his J&A Services NGK Goodyear 2014 Cadillac CTS-V has another solid pass of 5.883, 245.05 mph and would secure the 8th spot heading into eliminations.

“It’s awesome to have all of the family here, I want to put on a good show for them,” Whiteley said after securing the 8th spot of 16 positions.

Round one saw a first time matchup between Steven Whiteley and Harry Hruska. Whiteley got the starting line advantage but Hruska chased him down and took the win.

Steven Whiteley and his team will have a busy off season as they are working on the modifications of a brand new 2018 ZL1 1LE Camero. Opening Day for the NHRA E3 Spark Plugs Drag Racing Series presented by J&A Services is March 15th – 18th, 2018 at The Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gator Nationals in Gainesville, FLA.
